Myrmidon reigns out of the Brownsville, WI area

Formed in 2004 by Matt Zimmel, Nick Sadowski, and Ryan Hanke. The original style was very Pestilence influenced, and when Bassist Josh Burtard joined it was decided a slight change would be made. At this time they recorded the Pestilence-esque material for the first demo named “Horrors from a Twisted Mind” and Myrmidon than began shifting his sight from Pestilence/Death to a more Autopsy/Gorguts approach, they all began to write in that more sludge filled darker style of Death metal claiming bands from the late 80’s/early 90’s as influences. They than, in January, did some preproduction of the Second demo which was going to be called “The Eviscerating Darkness”, and they cut some songs they had at that time for it and rewrote more figuring if they rerecorded they could get a much darker and heavier sound. In early April they began the recording of the second demo “The Eviscerating Darkness” this scourge that would be unleashed was the darkest yet of their works including the epic title track “The Eviscerating Darkness”, in which you can hear the bands style developing from the remnants of many Gorguts, Autopsy, Immolation, Incantation, and Demilich inspired parts. Soon , they had brought two new members to the band, Andrew Chen, who was the originally going to be the third guittarist, but in a twist of fate, Josh Burtard left Myrmidon, thus causing Nick to take on the role of bassist. Still wanting to experiment with three guittarists, Myrmidon took in yet another guitar player, Shane; However, after a show, and due to personal reasons, Shane departed from Myrmidon on good terms, With the new line-up change, came yet another drastic one, as Nick left Myrmidon, leaving Andrew to replace him on bass. Fully revamped, the band plans to start re-record a new CD around December, which will unleash an entirely new conception of what Myrmidon is... Prepare yourselves......... its called... ALL YOUR NIGHTMARES INCARNATED, and its going to be a slab of the darkest Death metal this side of Immolation and Gorguts, flickerings of atonal riffing mixed with the classic old school formulae, everything has been brought up a notch: all the instruments will be played at a much more professional level, more complexity within the song structures, changing riffs, soon a couple promo tracks from this will be released upon the minds of the weak !!!!
