Bio:
Stumbling out of the local metal scene of north eastern WI, New Skin was formed in an effort to create a sound that is familiar yet hunting for the obscure. New Skin's primary goal has always been to develop a sound that encourages people to bob their head and lose themselves in the rhythm. New Skins vocals (Bill), reminiscent of early Deftones and God Lives Underwater, reflect and attack the complacency of the middle United States mentality with lyrics that are always self-defecating and over analyzing. The rhythm guitar (Brian), influenced by Testament and Fear Factory, focuses on short burst-like riffs juxtaposed with melodic chords. While lead guitar (Chad) offers dissonance and an intense dynamic frequency shift forcing people to feel like they are being poked in the ear with a sharp stick, drums (Luke), influenced by David Sylvaria and Keith Moon, fill the air with shaking beats and spastic pulses. Lastly, New Skin is pulled together by samples from their programmer and percussionist (Rob). ..
