I’m aware that this is only my second interview, and that both have been with Aussie bands. This is probably an unconscious attempt to broaden the sense of awareness for you Adrenalin Metal Union readers, and to hopefully give you an insight into the general psyche of a nine-to-five Australian. Keeping that in mind, I can’t swear that none of these lads haven’t stuck their thumbs in any critter’s butt-holes, but whatever their hobbies are, this writer reckons they’re pretty on-the-level. ADRENALIN: Alright, you angry bloody mountain-men, I seem to like opening with this question: STEVE: THE OFFSPRING – “Americana“. The parent’s response was not positive at all. BEN: SLAYER. I don’t think they gave a shit. BART: THE MIGHTY MIGHTY BOSSTONES. They didn’t really care either. ALEX: KORN’s first album. Mum wasn’t a huge fan. Dad thought it was a phase. ADRENALIN: Who came up with your unusual band-name? Is there a particular message or explanation to it? Bart found it in a play called ‘Speed The Plow’. There’s no set meaning behind it, we just thought it sounded cool. It has a sort of ambiguous charm that we quite like. |
ADRENALIN: Okay, if Ben’s “Terror”, which one, may I ask is “Grace”? ALEX: It’s gotta be Barty. You can’t look past that spunky clean-cut image. Ben Terror is a bit of an in-joke as he is more ‘Zen’ than ‘Terror’ but sometimes he really loses it. Especially when people fuck up his order at McDonalds. Lets not go there. ADRENALIN: Steve: Do you have any tips for other grind drummers to be able to keep up the absurd amounts of energy that your live set obviously requires? ADRENALIN: Ben: What kind of equation does BTBG use to write songs? Is it one member bringing riffs to the rehearsal room? Or an amalgamation of everyone’s ideas thrown into the mix? |
