First of all, I just read on your website that Tears Will Drown is no longer your band name and that you are now called Curse The Day. Is this in effect immediately? Is there a reason behind the name change?

The name change took place immediately, and we christened it at a show already so it is totally on. We just felt Tears Will Drown didn't really capture all that we have going on in the music and lyrics...well..and it sucked. Haha. Plus, you can say "Curse the Day" in the nice death metal growl and it sounds better, haha.

How would you describe Tears Will Drown's (Curse The Day) music?

I guess I personally would describe our music as metal. Just brutal metal. We throw in some things that we find interesting, but I'm not gonna pretend we're something we're not. We are a metal band.

How is the metal scene in the DC/Maryland area?

Honestly, I can't say a lot for the metal scene in that area. But then, I can't say a lot against that scene either. I actually live in Virginia, the rest of the guys live up in that area, so maybe they'd know more about it. I do know that one of the bands I liked broke up...but other than that. We have played with a few good bands though, but I'm not gonna name drop (except for my friends, haha, Methal Orange) hahaha.

Have you played in a lot of other areas? If so, what area seems to have the best metal scene?

We've played in 2 places in Virginia, in Baltimore, and in Philadelphia (yeah we're limited), but I'd have to say, no one tears it up like kids in Baltimore. If we play somewhere else and it's better, I'll be impressed.

Tears Will Drown is on a split with Wings Of Scarlet & With Dead Hands Rising. How did you get on a split with those bands?

The split came about when we had been talking with LSR about a release and we were moving kinda slowly. Then those bands began talking with him as well, so Dan (who runs Life Sentence Records) suggested we take a few songs and all put out a split.

Is there a release date on your upcoming demo? Is there a title for it?

Demo...ahh...damn we're slow. No release date yet, but I think we're shooting for sometime in April, and all the songs will be available on our mp3 site (www.mp3.com/tearswilldrown) when it's out, so I guess just keep checking in there or coming to our shows. As for the title, I haven't told the guys yet, but I'm gonna push for "Ass Monkeys from Outer Space."

Are you going to shop around the demo to labels? Has there been any label interest so far?

We're going to send the demo to everyone, EVERYONE. I think we're gonna start with the Christian Pop labels, then we'll move on to the metal labels. Who's Matchbox 20 on? I think that should be who we go for, I mean, they suck and dammit they're rich. But yeah, we're gonna send it out. I'm thinkin I'll make clothes that hold like 30 CDr's, so those smartass-mallrat kids can think they're stealing them from me, when it was all part of my master plan. *insert evil laugh here* LSR is interested in puttin it out though. And honestly, Dan is an AWESOME guy and has helped us much so I wouldn't be surprised if we just didn't talk to anyone else.

Tears Will Drown is currently a member of the organization, Heavycore (www.heavycore.org). Has that helped you out in any way? How you did learn about the organization?

Heavycore is pretty cool. It hasn't gotten us any shows yet, or a fat-ass million dollar paycheck, but, it has helped us in meeting new people (meaning, you) haha, and, for people checkin us out, all they have to do is see that we're a member and they know that we're not some mall metal band that's just tryin to sign a deal with Adidas so we can go on tour with Limp Bizkit so we can get fucked in the ass by the kid with the backwards Yankees cap. I actually learned about the organization because of a mass email I got from, I think it was Kill the Messenger, but I'm not sure. I get tons of those things haha.

If somebody is interested in contacting you or learning more about the band, how would they do that?

Contact info...for sex, me, contact me. ANYTIME! I'm open around the clock! Just kidding. They could email us at cursethedaymetal@hotmail.com or go to our website and sign the guestbook I guess. (http://www.sharpshooter.cc/tearswilldrown). We're currently looking to setup any shows, if not on the east coast, in our area would be good until we can setup a brief tour, or if within a few hundred miles, weekend dates are best. But email is for anything, so people can just write and ask us for the demo too.

Any final comments, advice, jokes, ect?

Umm.....no. Wait, I take that back. Get the damn demo. And umm....yeah.
