ADRENALIN: My first question, same as in most of my interviews, is: Who are you and what is your purpose here on Earth?

DERON:  Deron, guitar, Demon Dog Sperm, here to create something that is the heaviest metal around and a welcomed change from the mundane that has always plagued metal.

ADRENALIN: How long has Demon Dog Sperm been around and have you always primarily been a stoner/death metal band?

DERON:  We have been a band since 2000. Sid and I worked in metal radio and decided we needed to start a band that had all of the elements we loved. The scene was lacking in bands we considered good, and being in metal radio we listened to just about everything, and it was quite frustrating. That disappointment, and our taste for the band Acid Bath, gave us the basic fuel to start DDS. The stoner/death vibe was definitely there from the beginning.

ADRENALIN: What do you find appealing about the style of music that you create/play?

DERON:  Personally, I believe our music to be an extension of emotion, and especially, an outlet of aggression, and it works as a tension reliever. The down-tuning we use is lower than most bands today you can feel it through the floor and your body when we play. It also makes the catchy riffs extremely heavy. We're really quite different than most metal I've heard, I know I find that appealing.

ADRENALIN: Demon Dog Sperm is currently in a hiatus. How long is that going to last and what is the reason behind it?

DERON:  We haven't really taken a break from each other in 4 years. We all have work, and family stuff. They need a break too. I don't think it will be a long break from each other, as it is a break from playing out. Some of us can't stand not playing.

ADRENALIN: What kind of non-music related stuff are you doing during your break?

DERON:  Me? I fish and cook and smoke weed. But that's just me. The other guys drink, or smoke crack or shoot heroin into their eyeballs. Maybe that's just Steve.

ADRENALIN: Late last year you became a father. How is that been effecting and blending in with being in a band?

DERON: I have the greatest girlfriend on earth. She understands I love music, and has no problem with what I do. I love my son very much and spend lots of quality time with him.
