Interview with Dominaeon
** Interview conducted by Dion of Adrenalin Metal Union - December 2007**

“Dominaeon“. Interesting name. Interesting people. They hail from a faraway land of sandy beaches, meat-pies and odd-looking critters that belong on an old Lost In Space set more than a sun-blasted landscape. I talk, of course, about Down-Under.

I’ve known the lads from Dominaeon for quite some time - one of ‘em for nigh-on ten years. I picked these guys to interview ‘cause I figured that they have interesting stuff to say. I don’t always understand it - in fact I don’t ever really listen, just smile and nod when I feel they’re looking at me - but they’re quite happy to prattle on regardless. I thought that if these slackers had to actually write their answers they’d be a little more concise, and we can all quickly get on with the rest of our day.

So here goes…

ADRENALIN: Okay. To bowl the first ball of the over (cricket-talk), what was the first album each of you ever bought and what was your parent’s response to it? (Include translations into American, as necessary.)

ADAM: Megadeth’s “Killing Is My Business…” My oldies (parents) weren't ever phased by my taste in music or choice in albums/shirts etc. They only ever complained about the volume.

JUSTIN: Motley Crue’s “Girls, Girls, Girls” when I was nine. My parents didn't mind that much, not really until I showed my Dad the clip for “Suffer The Children” from Napalm Death when I was 13. He said "I hope ya don't seriously get

Death when I was 13. He said "I hope ya don't seriously get into this!" Hahaha. Too late - I already loved Sepultura and Slayer.

CHRIS: My first heavy record was probably Body Count's first album. Then I got into Pantera, Slayer, Sepultura and then I was shown Deicide. My mum hated it when I first started listening to death metal. She read the lyrics to 'Tomb Of The Mutilated' when someone at her work brought them in ‘cos their kid bought it, and she was disgusted. I think she thought it was a phase I'd grow out of. Twelve years later here I sit. Haha.

ADRENALIN: “Dominaeon” is an interesting fusion of words. Would you care to define it for us?

ADAM: Correct. It is simply a combination of the words "Dominion" & "Aeon", but we pronounce it "Dominion“. It's a word I commonly use throughout the lyrics - a concept so to speak. All of the lyrics for Dominaeon are chapters. A twisted, dark fantasy. Something a little different.
