Interview With

questions answered by Jim
interview conducted by Mike

Who is Eternal Silence and how was the band formed?

We're a Death Metal band from Appleton, WI. I met Keith at a gas station and everything
went from there.

In the band's bio, it states: "Eternal Silence has a style completely their own. A style hard to compare to any one brand of death metal". How would you describe the style that you play?

We're influenced by a shitload of bands. We never try to be fast, slow, or whatever a lot of bands do. We write everything from what we feel at the moment. That goes for our lyrics as well. With our music, you won't hear the same song over and over, so to speak.

What is the band's approach to writing new songs?

We usually start with guitar riffs, followed by drums, and vocals last. It seems to work good that way.

How is the music scene in your area? Does Eternal Silence have a good fan-base at the places you normally play?

The music scene in our area is better than everyone thinks it is. When we played with Dying Fetus in Appleton, there were over 500 people. We have a good fan base here. With every show, there are new people. But I think a lot of people take our scene for granted.

Are you working on a third demo right now? Any plans for a full-length album?

Right now we're writing new material for a full-length album which will be out in the Spring/Summer, 2005.

You seem to be a die-hard death metal fan. What are your feelings on the other genres of music?

I'm very open-minded, although there are some styles that irritate the shit out of me. Rap and grunge are a couple of them.

How long have you been doing the "Sic Pic Of The Month" on your website?

Where do you find the content? That was an idea that we had before we had the site. So we've been doing it for a while now. We get the content on the internet. Can't tell where.

What's the sickest thing you have personally witnessed?

I once saw a really fat chick naked.

Is there anything out there that could be done that you would think of as too extreme?

That shit-eating stuff just doesn't appeal to me.

Are there any bands/musicians that you look up to? Any thanks and praises that you would like to give?

There are just too many to list. Everyone who was in the band Death through
the years would probably be on top.

Any words of advice to any of the posers out there who think Limp
Bizkit is the best band in the world?

One day, you will grow up. Remember New Kids On The Block? Kind of the same thing.

If she begged and pleaded, would you let Britney Spears join your band?

Maybe if she was on her knees begging.

Any final comments before this interview comes to an end?

The angle of the dangle is perpetual to the inverted triad of the weight of common
household feces.
