1. FOR THE FIRST QUESTIONS, HOW LONG HAS FOREVER SLEEP BEEN TOGETHER? AND WHAT IS IT THAT YOU THINK HAS KEPT THE BAND TOGETHER AND AROUND FOR AS LONG AS IT HAS BEEN?

Noctuszoth: We have been together for over three agonizing years now, and I believe that we have made it this long because we can't get along with any other musicians in the area to be in a band that we REALLY like.

2. HOW HARD DO YOU THINK IT IS TO KEEP A BAND OF YOUR STYLE ALIVE AND STRONG IN THE CURRENT MUSIC INDUSTRY?

Somnuszoth: I guess it would be considered to be extremely hard not to keep the band going, but to keep a following of people whose opinions of what we do actually matter to us.

Noc: We have a hard time packing the herds into the venues because the state of peoples' musical tastes have taken a big shit over the last few years. Our talent has also taken a big shit, but the two are not related...

3. WHAT IS YOUR IDEA OF A HIGH QUALITY BAND OR MUSIC GROUP?

Som: My idea of a high quality band would probably be measured not so much by the music they play as would be by their conviction to do what they do. The music does matter, but what would you think of the spice girls and ko®n doing a duet?

Noc: As long as a band has a lot of thought put into their music creation, has a definite evocativeness to it, or if makes me want to shit, I shall respect it. Too often bands try to cash in on a "paint-by-numbers" mentality because they want to be popular and get some ass.

4. IN JUNE, FOREVER SLEEP SIGNED A RECORD CONTRACT WITH D-DAY RECORDS. HOW HAS THAT BEEN WORKING OUT FOR YOU?

Som: Well, we signed the contract and I guess everything has been great except for one-third of the label who lacks a pair of balls. Steve and Mike have done an awful lot of work as far as promoting and keeping up with all the websites I set up (since I have no idea how to do a webpage). Anyhow, I would say we have come quite a bit further then we were this time a year ago.

Noc: I guess we are better off, but the "business aspect of the whole deal " really disgusts me sometimes. They (the label) have helped us out quite a bit, but I still have to get used to COMPROMISING.

5. WHAT ARE FOREVER SLEEP'S PLANS FOR THE NEAR FUTURE?

Noc: Hopefully, the split with F.I.S.T. comes out soon and goes over well. We also have our album coming out in the new (pseudo) millennium, which I am hoping will get us many a class-action-lawsuit against us. We are feebly trying to find a replacement for our bass The Machine (or NEAL, as the mortals call him). We are working on newer material and playing on Yrral's playstation a lot, too.

6. IS THERE A SPECIFIC MESSAGE THAT FOREVER SLEEP WANTS TO SPREAD OUT TO YOU AUDIENCE?

Noc: Our message is simple: DIE.

7. WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU WEREN'T A MEMBER OF FOREVER SLEEP?

Som: I guess I have never really thought about what I would do mainly because over the last couple of years everyone has really gotten used to everyone else's writing styles, and the whole band clicks together on everything. If I wasn't in the band I would miss our little family squabbles over the shitty songs no one wants to play except Shane.

Noc: If I wasn't in the band, I would look extremely stupid having that expensive keyboard and drum machine for no good reason. (HINT, HINT, CHRISn'CHAD!)

8. WHAT DO YOU THINK WILL HAVE TO HAPPEN BEFORE SOCIETY WILL ACCEPT THE HEAVIER STYLES OF MUSIC AND NOT TRY TO BLAME EVERYTHING ON AND CENSOR THE METAL GENRE?

Som: Society will never stop using the metal genre as a scapegoat, the only way to loosen their grip on censorship is to not give them the attention that satisfies them.

Noc: They need to polish their Goodguy badges somehow, so I will have to be the martyr for a generation of fucking idiots. These soccer moms and such wish they could pull their skirts nice and high for us, but somehow the masochism gets in the way. If we represent these indulgences enough through our ART, then maybe we can have their daughters. We are everywhere and we will not be stopped as long as there is one CD-R, as long as there is one MP3, one JPEG, one note of our music, one word that I may spit forth left; WE SHAN'T BE STIFLED!! Actually , I think it really sucks...

9. WHEN THE FOREVER SLEEP SPILT WITH F.I.S.T. IS RELEASED IT WILL BE PROMOTED BOTH IN THE USA AND SWEDEN (AMONG OTHER PLACES). HOW WELL DO YOU THINK FOREVER SLEEP WILL GO OVER IN SWEDEN COMPARED TO HERE IN THE USA?

Som: I guess I just hope that whoever listens to F.I.S.T. first, doesn’t form an opinion about us just because we are on the same CD.

Noc: I hear the Swedes are big into the dance scene, so I guess we are fucked there. As for the metal following, I hope it goes over well, but I fear that we may be a small fish in a big pond. I am confident with our music, but it seems everyone and their brodre over there has some sort of extreme band. But, I also believe that we stand above a lot of that too. So to answer your question, I don't know...

10. IS THERE ANYTHING THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE HAPPEN FOR/ WITH FOREVER SLEEP THAT HASN'T HAPPENED YET OR ISN'T PLANNED YET?

Som: The only thing that I want to see is some recognition for our ability to write and play a style of music that was not derived by copying someone else's ideas our success trait.

Noc: I just would like a little recognition as the omniscient musical genius that I am and would like to hear some strange woman say, "Fuck Fred Durst! Now Noctuszoth---THAT'S FUCKING HOT!!!"

11. DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR BANDS OUT THERE WHO ARE TRYING TO MAKE IT BIG?

Som: My advice is to GIVE UP!!!! We are here now there is no use competing with a sex symbol such as noctuszoth!!! Just kidding!! Do what makes you happy, if someone likes it, good for them, if they don’t, tell them to fuck off or fuck them up, which ever you are capable of.

Noc: I just have seven words to remember...Proper Preliminary Practice Prevents Piss-Poor Performance. Too bad some of the bands from this area are oblivious to this fact. Wise up boys! At least have the dignity to give us a blowjob after we FUCK YOU!

12. ANY FINAL COMMENTS?

Som: Yes, there are a number of bands from this area who seem to not want to recognize our accomplishments and still seem to want to relinquish in their self-proclaimed rock star image, WAKE UP AND FUCK OFF!!! We are not going away and the more they give us their attitudes, the more it drives us to crush them and their music. Noctuszoth says; "Man with hole and hand in pocket feel cocky."
