Interview with CWN ANNWN
JANUARY 2009

NEIL:  It's okay for bands to "regurgitate" if it makes them happy, which is ultimately what matters at the end of the day. I've watched bands shamelessly rip off larger acts. Personally, I've never understood this as from a business view, you will always be considered an inferior copy to what you're trying to emulate, and creatively, I don't understand what you might artisically derive by shamelessly copping another artists style. But if that's what makes you happy to pursue, who am I to judge?

It's not okay to the extent that you feel you need to do it to be popular. If you're just trying to ride a wave of whatever's popular, you're just contributing to a glut of mediocrity that has more potential to take down music as a form of art than anything other potential pratfall. Just write what makes you happy and with integrity and the rest will take care of itself.

ADRENALIN:  What are some of your pet peeves (musically or non-musical)?

NEIL:  People that practice with their doors open in the studio suck.

ADRENALIN:  Are there any traditions or routines Cwn Annwn has when you play shows away from home?

NEIL:  I'm not allowed to drive the band van or eat gas-inducing food prior to leaving. Maybe a good game of sharp stick and bottle before we hit the road. Otherwise, ritualistic behavior is kept to a minimum.

ADRENALIN: What kinds of merchandise do you currently have available? Where can people get a hold of it?Cwn Annwn Coverart

NEIL: We currently have the Blood of the Djinn EP (w/Julie vox) and the Method of Murder full length (w/Neil vox) available for purchase from Cwn Annwn's on-line store at www.cwnannwn. com/merch, or from I-tunes. We have two different shirt desings, and we hope to add some more within the next two to four months. All of these can be purchased from
www.cwnannwn.com as well.

ADRENALIN: What’s next for Cwn Annwn?

NEIL: As stated earlier, we are finishing the writing of our concept album, which we are optimistically hoping that recording could start as early as the end of the year. We are hoping to get out of town more often, especially with the new trailer and gas prices down.
