Dissent And Revolt

Interview with Dissent and Revolt
April 2009

** Interview conducted by Darren.
Questions answered by Aaron and Greg F

Every once in a great while, you come across something special. I've been fortunate enough to have experienced that something special a number of times, live and in your face. I have told them many times personally, but it is time to reiterate the fact that they are, "hands down" a truly amazing band! That comes across loud and clear when you see them live. Maybe it is the fact that I am "graduating" to heavier and more aggressive music as I age (go figure?) and the timing happens to be right, but nothing hits (or gets!) me harder that a Dissent and Revolt show! Not only are the guys awesome, but their music literally moves the earth, right beneath your feet. I've put their yet to be released full-length as one of my most wanted of 2009. For someone like me, that says a lot! I'm proud and excited to present to you the following interview! And please, please do yourself a favor and hit one of their shows. I already can't wait for the next one!

ADRENALIN:  Dissent and Revolt erupted from the ashes of former bands, care to name names?  How did everything come into play?

AARON:  I truly believe our old bands broke up because we were meant to play music together. We don’t all always see eye to eye, but I think we all want to make something aggressive but fresh, something new and different to hear.

ADRENALIN:  Aggression and Dissent and Revolt is a marriage like no other...how is your aggression perceived

live, especially in front on new audiences?

AARON:  It’s mainly a “what are you doing?’ and “why are you doing it!?”  No, with our music, you never know.  Some people will latch on and love it, and others could probably never open their minds to it.  I hear many different nuances besides aggression, but I’m in the band, so it’s interesting to hear what other people think.

ADRENALIN:  Going way back before any of you picked up instruments... do you remember the "defining moment" that shook your soul and made you realize you needed to rock and roll?

Dissent And RevoltAARON:  I always loved music, but hearing Guns N’ Roses “Appetite for Destruction” really opened my eyes.  The darkness and swearing was like nothing I had heard before.  I had to rewind “It’s So Easy” right away.  Later, Megadeth’s “Peace Sells” really threw me into metal.  It’s the first time I heard music that heavy, and I almost felt a little scared.  I loved it instantly.

GREG F: I remember hearing Sweet-" Fox on the Run" on 45. I was like four years old.  Followed by Tommy Roe "Dizzy", that day changed my life!!!
