Dissent And Revolt

Interview with Dissent and Revolt
April 2009

for people to grab onto.  I try to always mix the very personal in with more abstract or worldly ideas, things that will be interesting to say night after night.

Relationships and spirituality in with an angry rant and words that just sound cool to me.  I want there to be no limits on what we talk about, though I do usually always have a line about being alive and living life to the fullest.

ADRENALIN:  What has been the bands greatest accomplishment to date?

AARON:  We’ve been really lucky to open for some cool signed bands like Dillinger Escape Plan, A Life Once Lost, Divine Heresy, and some others - plus, it’s really cool to have vinyl out even though most people don’t have a record player anymore.  We have an upcoming 8-track which is really gonna take the charts by storm.

ADRENALIN:  Where would you like to see Dissent and Revolt in 3 - 5 years?

AARON:  Better songs, bigger label, and many more shows.  Plus, Chris and I will be legally married.  Hopefully I’ll still be alive., that’d be nice!

GREG F: Playing all over the world

ADRENALIN:  What things besides music does the band like to do for fun?

AARON:  I’m really a music nerd.  If I’m really gonna get

wild, I might read a book. Also, I’ve heard drugs and drinking are fun.  I’ll have to try that sometime.

ADRENALIN:  How does the band approach song writing? Are sections written on their own and collaborated during rehearsals, or are they written together in more of a live setting?

AARON:  Chris usually has the nucleus with one of his bizarre riffs, and he and Greg usually play off each other.  They’re both really creative guys, so they both just beat at parts for awhile.  Some ideas seem to click right away. Others seem to take quite awhile to form.  We’re going to work on a song Greg de Roussan, our bass player, wrote.  That will be cool and probably a lot groovier. This is the most boring answer of all time. We really just ask ourselves, “What would Creed do?”

ADRENALIN:  Any thoughts on the evolution of the music biz and the way it will be distributed?

AARON:  At least heavy music fans want to see music live, so hopefully we’ll be there to give people product in whatever form they want.

ADRENALIN:  Although the band is relatively fresh, have you noticed your music evolving in any way?
