Interview with KAMCHATKA
May 2008

THOMAS:  Well, I have spent my whole life to get a proper tone in my hands and fingers, that is the most important part.  Then I use a Gibson SG, Fender Telecaster Deluxe, Hagstrom Viking, and my old Strat from 1976.  My amps are a modded Fender Dual Showman reverb head, with a vintage Marshall cabinet and one 4 x10 fender Blues deville, some delays, and a boss overdrive on the floor.

ADRENALIN:  As a big fan of guitars, my life changed after I discovered Stevie Ray Vaughan in the 90's.  I can't help but hear his spirit a bit in your music. Was/is he any sort of influence?  Can you talk about some of the music you grew up with that helped shaped your sound?

THOMAS:  Yes! I was and still am into Stevie's work back in the nineties, but I started as a seven-year-old kid listening to Hendrix, Johnny Winter, Jimmie Vaughan, BB king, Albert king, Freddie king, Eric Clapton, and all the old greats such as Howling wolf , Muddy Waters, Lightning Hopkins etc,etc

ADRENALIN:  With the addition of the web, in particular Myspace, how has this helped the band?  I can't imagine any bad things coming from it, has there been any negatives?

THOMAS:  We have gained a lot of fans and contacts through Myspace and it works perfect for us

ADRENALIN:  A lot of my peers keep telling me there are no great bands these days.... that's crazy!  There are so many great bands in the scene at the moment it is almost unfathomable!   What are some of the better bands out today in your opinion? .

THOMAS:  Opeth, Clutch, Meshuggah, Gov`t Mule, Derek

Trucks, Lionize, Amy Winehouse, and many many more.

ADRENALIN:  How do you feel about the state of the music industry today?

THOMAS:  It challenges you to be better at what you do and work harder and harder!

ADRENALIN:  Do you have a favorite song(s) or album(s)?

THOMAS:   Favorite album - "Jazz Pa Svenska" - favorite song "Visa Från Utanmyra" by legendary Swedish jazz pianist Jan Johansson.

ADRENALIN:  Is there any sort of message or point you are trying to convey with your music, or are you just having fun?

Kamchatka BandTHOMAS:  We sing about everything in life... good/bad , politics etc. and we think that it's important that everybody is kind to one another to make the world a better place, and at the same time share the good vibes and have a great time with our audience at the shows.
