ADRENALIN: I see that “Memorial” is getting
a lot of excellent reviews. I personally think it is your best album
so far. In past interviews that people have done with you, I have
read a lot of questions asking which Moonspell album is your
favorite and why you did what you did for each album. So, instead I
ask: Are you satisfied with this album and the path that Moonspell
is currently taking? MIKE: Well to start off, this is Mike the Drummer and I would like to thank you for this interview and the opportunity to talk about this new album. The excellent reviews are for sure overwhelming When we did the album there was not much attention around us, yes Antidote had done well, maybe better because of the great reactions that we got playing it live. I think that people, when they hear our albums, they might like it but when they actually see us live it gives it another meaning . Memorial was done a lot off the moment we lived during those great times, and it for sure gained from those experiences. We wanted to keep it as real as possible, so we composed during the tours and any break we got in between. Now that I look back a simple thought comes to me, we just wanted to do the best demo possible. We wanted to surprise people and create some kind of hype around us, the kind of feeling we had more then 10 years ago when we did Wolfheart. The innocence you have when you want something so bad that all your thoughts become that moment, the moment of creating something new and refreshing This album for sure has that touch but with all the experience from the past album put in one, a new generation for us and the fans that we can share together and not just a band that |
expect good reviews, but
something listeners will jump at and grab because of the music. I
think we found that combination on this album and yes I am so
satisfied with what we are experiencing in our lives in the present
and also what I imagine what the future will be, a stronger refined Moonspell.
ADRENALIN: Any updates on the Moonspell DVD that is set to be released this year? Release date? What’s going to be on it? MIKE: We have had some legal problems and a lot of heartaches over the DVD. We wanted it to have come out before Memorial , but due to all the problems it was impossible, the DVD has a live show at a Polish Metal Mania festival, with a duration of 1 hour and also a bonus DVD with a bit of our past and history with interviews with the members and old live shows, stuff that we have |
