** Interview
conducted by Heather. "Moonspell" has captivated us all with their unique sound and incredible talent. They have been around since 1992 and released their debut EP /Under The Moonspell/ in 1994. Since then, they have recorded many other albums, all gaining good reviews. Drummer Miguel(Mike) Gaspar is here to tell us more about the band and the latest release titled "Night Eternal" ADRENALIN: Is there a specific meaning behind the name "Moonspell"? MIKE: We wanted a name that represented nature and darkness somehow. We came from the underground so the names were very creative with lots of meaning. But these days with our fan base it´s means a lot more! Dark and heavy music with a spiritual and philosophical touch that many bands never had! Like religion! ADRENALIN: You recently came out with a video. How many do you have and are you pleased with how this one turned out? MIKE: This one is over the top. The special effects are like a Hollywood movie. This team that we worked with in Serbia are so talented! The prices also make it possible for a small band like us to have great videos! All the others were good for the time and lead us in a direction of our own style and image! Metal actors! he he.... |
ADRENALIN: You indicated in your last interview with us (thanks for doing that one by the way!) that you get nervous before you go on stage. Is that still the case? MIKE: I still do. Never weeks before a special show or on that day, just the few minutes before. It´s like a zone that hit´s you and you just have to handle it. When I sit down on the drums and it gets going all the nerves are gone and have become part of the concert. It´s funny how the stage feels like home sometimes!!!!
ADRENALIN: How is the metal scene in Portugal? How does that scene compare and contrast with the metal scene here? MIKE: Well let´s say that compared to the states it is a joke!!! We are still very behind other metal countries. The |
