music that much more interesting to listen to. Is there a main guy who writes most of the music or does it tend to be more of a collaborative effort between all five members? ARNO: So Close, So Far is more complex than our first album, each members has got his own role to do, the strings harmonisation was a huge work and the rest also. When we are writing a new song, one of us come with a little structure (ideas, point of view...) and the collaborative effort is for the customisation. The lyrics always come last. This is such a slow way to proceed, but each member shall agree to each part. ADRENALIN: Based on recent reviews I've done from other bands on the French Dirty 8 label, it looks like the Metal scene is thriving quite nicely. Has the scene always been good there or has it just now started to flourish? Because to be honest, I haven’t heard of too many extreme metal bands coming out of France in the recent past. Usually its mostly flooded with Power Metal. ARNO: Yes, the French Metal scene is thriving... I think it has always been, even with more quality now, you can hear many good bands in different styles. That’s great! ADRENALIN: Speaking of your labelmates (Sikh and S-Core) on Dirty 8 I notice you do a lot of touring together, is there generally a pretty good working relationship between the bands or is there more of a friendly competition between the bands? ARNO: Which competition?? Drinking beer maybe? :-) |
Dirty8 is a label with different good bands, so touring together is pretty cool, because we are all friends. During the last DIRTY8 TOUR, we mixed the members of the others bands up for a couple of songs...It’s really nice to play in another band just for fun! ADRENALIN: How was the experience getting to tour with bands such as Anthrax and Prong on your way up the ladder?
ADRENALIN: Any plans to hook onto any of the bigger European festivals such as Hellfest, Wacken or Download? We here in the states are infinitely jealous of all great summertime gigs over there.
